Know your purpose
When you want to write something what do you intend to achieve? Do you plan on sharing information or tell a story? If you plan on writing to inform then you need to write in way that tells people what to do. This means that you must avoid beating around the bush and be straight to the point. For telling stories you must first learn how to capture attention using descriptive sentences.
Vary the structure of your sentences
No matter what the purpose of your writing is, it was avoid boring the readers out of it. To do this you must vary the structures of the sentences that you use. Using the same structure is like speaking in monotone making it boring for anyone who reads it.
Use of verbs versus adjectives
Verbs are more effective for writings that tell people what to do. These words incite people to act. Adjectives are just to let people know how it feels which is great for telling stories. Again, purpose is the key here.
