Persuasive Copy To Help Sell a Product

contentWhat good is a high quality product if it lacks a great persuasive copy that sells it to consumers? There are hundreds of good products out there that remain undiscovered because of poor marketing. What might have earned you big bucks just got lost in a poor copy’s translation.

In order to have an effective copy, the first thing you need to do is identify your target market. Who will benefit the most from your products? What age group, gender or type of job sets them apart from other people? This allows you to do a market research and study different persuasion techniques to know which are most effective for a particular group. You can find hundreds of tips just flying around the internet. If you want to sell your product, you’ve got to be diligent because your competition is everywhere.

In composing your copy you must have a headline that truly POPS! This is in order to catch your reader’s attention. Failing in this area will fail the whole copy. In your headline, focus on offering the strongest benefit of your product to the reader. This will immediately hook those who are already looking for that solution. Many writers mistake saving the strongest benefit for the last part. This can work sometimes but stating it in the intro is more effective in most cases.

Sell your product as a solution for some need. With the decline in economy, not many people today spend as much. If you offer them something that they think they need then they won’t consider it as a waste of money. Be sure to stress all the benefits of your product and not just define its features. For example in selling diet pills, do not just say that Lipodrene is the active ingredient, show how it works too. Also, include what makes your product different from the competition.

Another important characteristic of a persuasive copy is it should be able to establish your credibility as seller. The reason more people buy from a more expensive brand with product that is almost equal in quality as a local one is because they already trust the service. Get feedback from your consumers and include them in your copy to gain trust from your target market. But be sure to deliver on your promises or you will lose credibility which can not be won over by even the cleverest and most persuasive copy there is.

The Best Writing Tips Today

Writing is a form of expression that is so old as time but still very in demand today. It also became an art for some individuals that they become writers. But for those who want to write and are not that skillful it can be difficult to know how to write effectively

Know your purpose
When you want to write something what do you intend to achieve? Do you plan on sharing information or tell a story? If you plan on writing to inform then you need to write in way that tells people what to do. This means that you must avoid beating around the bush and be straight to the point. For telling stories you must first learn how to capture attention using descriptive sentences.

Vary the structure of your sentences
No matter what the purpose of your writing is, it was avoid boring the readers out of it. To do this you must vary the structures of the sentences that you use. Using the same structure is like speaking in monotone making it boring for anyone who reads it.

Use of verbs versus adjectives
Verbs are more effective for writings that tell people what to do. These words incite people to act. Adjectives are just to let people know how it feels which is great for telling stories. Again, purpose is the key here.

Follow these tips whenever you start writing. As you can see, your purpose for writing is the start. Once you have this done everything is much easier now.

How to be a Good Writer – Writing Styles

Being a good writer does not mean becoming a best selling author. It just means that you can really express yourself well through writing. But how to you reach this point? How do you achieve a level of writing skill that readers would enjoy? The answer is in your style of writing.

Technically speaking, a writing style is a combination of a lot of things. This includes how you structure a sentence and the preference in using simple language, complex language, Old English or modern. But today we will focus more on the entire piece that you are writing. This means that your writing style could be seen from how you present the information in your pieces.

A very common and effective writing style is one that invites readers to read further. This type of writing starts with a brief introduction about the topic the writer is writing about. It gradually goes up in detail about the topic and ends it with a conclusion. This is common in educational writings that seek to teach people.

Another effective writing style is one that catches attention. This is basically a provocative style of writing where readers are drawn due to how unorthodox the writer is. This is a risky approach for rookie writers since they could end up sending readers away after getting their attention.

It is best to try out every writing style available. So read a lot to learn a lot. Try out writing styles that you find interesting or effectively let you understand the idea of the writer.

Real Estate Financing

An update on an old-ish writing project from a year ago. Our client wanted a refresh on her page on real estate financing, indicating more graphs and colors. After a quick review, we advised her to keep it the same and instead to blog about the latest developments in financing for her real estate clients. In addition, she should update her page with links to reference sites that help solidify her thoughts around each aspect of real estate financing.

This helps us segment into the meat of this post. You need to ask yourself why you’re writing this post and who is it for. Keep those 2 clearly in your mind, and DON’T STRAY! Today’s online reader will skim an article in 5 seconds to determine if it’s worth their time to read. If you cannot convince them in these crucial moments, they’ll move on and your article will not achieve it’s reason for being. What I like to do is this:

  • The first paragraph should confidently state what benefits the reader will get from investing a few minutes to read this article. Emphatize so you can connect with the reader.
  • Now, deliver on that promise in a concise (bullet point where necessary) manner.
  • End with a call to action – whether it’s summarizing the information (what can they do with it?) or take the next step.

That’s it. Now get going and write that next article…

Writing without editing

I was short on time and decided to see how well I could write if I limited myself to only 15 minutes WITHOUT the luxury of editing my work. I’ve heard that the mind is forced to stay sharp and focused if it is put under pressure to perform well. An adrenaline boost?

Unfortunately, the lack of sleep (aren’t chickens illegal unless you live on a farm?) had taken it’s toll on me, and what I produced wasn’t something I was going to share with anyone. Alas, Sam reminded me over coffee this morning that we had an agreement – that I was going to publish it!!!

So folks, check out my 15-minute brain fart under duress, an article on foreclosures I never thought it would see the light of day… Sigh!
